Yeon Soo Park

I am a Research Fellow at the Korea University Institute for Political Research. Prior to joining the institute, I was a Visiting Assistant Professor of Political Science at the University of Texas at Dallas.

One line of my work examines how militarization and armed conflict shape gender politics, including attitudes toward gender equality and patterns of wartime sexual violence. A second line examines how the political representation of marginalized groups translates into substantive policy and material outcomes, from LGBTQ+ rights to gender equality in the labor market.

I received my Ph.D. in Political Science from Texas A&M University in 2024. I also hold an M.A. in Political Science and a B.A. in Political Science and Economics from Korea University.
